Default 10/3/2025 Back Fishing After Total Knee Replacement 7 weeks Ago.

After a long and still continuing total knee replacement recovery my grandson Austin and I made a trip to the T Funky River. We found a few fish and ended up keeping 20 sacalait and 2 stripe bass. Water temp was 82 F and not much tidal movement. All fish caught on plastic and the rainbow assortment of colors was utilized. After 7 weeks of not getting out for a full day trip it felt great to be back in the saddle with my fishing partner, Austin. He did once again out fish me with the biggest and the most. His biggest fish today was a 14 1/2 inch white that he first mistook for a catfish the way it jerked his pole. Fun times for sure. Met Rojo on the river in one of his many boats. He kindly is trying to teach me how to use my hummingbird electronics to the fullest.

    Bon Temps!!

Sorry but having difficulty attaching pic's

Respectfully speaking I watched Austin smoke Bon Temps. The kid has a tell as when he sticks the Crappie he jumps just a little. I took a couple of pictures, one the sun was in my face but the other shows the intent Austin is searching for the bite.

Thanks for being respectful Rojo. I created a Fishing Monster!! Austin is very competitive and will do almost any thing except jump in the water and bite them with his teeth. He usually kicks my butt now, but I sit back and take pride in the fact that I was there when he was 3 and first held a cane pole and caught his first fish. He is 15 so he can’t legally drive me to the launch but now once I back him in he does the rest. I am along for the ride. When he misses a fish it’s gut wrenching to him. Life is good!!

    BON TEMPS!!

Glad the knee is getting better. I keep taking the kids hoping that they will someday take me.
