Met up with my fishing buddy around noon to a lake with a lower level I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe the lowest .
Weather forecast called for NE winds 4-8 , they missed it . At the first location a 10mph+ wind was blowing from the SSE . We moved to a location on the south end of the lake which should have put the winds at our back , WRONG ! It was blowing from the NE according to my iphone compass , white capping the surface .
I ended up finding a section where I used the wind to cast at an angle parallel to the bank and was able to start catching fish .
I ended up with total of 31 for the two and a half hours we actually fished .
Most were caught on my shortened Abu Garcia MB3 and Soare XR 500 and 2# P line Floroclear and my micro streamer jigs .
My best fish was a decent shellcracker caught on a called “ last cast” . Made me want to stat a little time longer , but my buddy had had enough of the wind , so we packed it up and headed home .
