Default Jig head wire keeper vs molded lead head keeper

Is it worth getting jig heads that have the wire keeper vs the molded keeper? I have never used jigheads with a wire keeper before and going to order some plastics and figured I would try them or should I save the money and buy more plastics? Thanks in advance.

The molded keeper tears the plastic and makes it easier for the body to slide down.
Wire keepers work much better IMO.

I make my baits with hard plastic since i'm fishing them open hook & they don't slide down very bad at all & i like a poured keeper better.

I feel that if you are using larger baits the lead keeper is fine, but if you are fishing smaller baits the wire keeper is the way to go.

I'm using my version of baby shad, crappie magnet & tubes & don't have a problem with the lead keeper at all. Probably because of the hard plastic.

I'm in the wire keeper camp and according to my sales wire keeper vs lead barb most folks are as well i'd guess it to be 5 to 1.

I checked prices online and found that walmart had a better price. They come with a swivel to make your own bottom spin lure.
Online price $40 per 100 without swivel or paint. walmart $3.50 for 10 with swivel and painted.

Thanks for the replies. I bought a pack of wire keeper jig heads and tried one out this afternoon. They seem nice but unfortunately never caught a fish to test it out.
