    Default Whats Under Your Bobber?

    Hello Fellow Anglers-

Was wondering what artificial lures have been very effective under your bobber/float? Please include manufacturer, color and size please.

Thank you for reading and mass thanks for replying.

Most of the time what I have under my slipfloat is : a #5 splitshot sinker - #4 or #2 gold Aberdeen hook - 2.5" minnow.

Sorry, but if I'm using a jig/plastics ... I want to see it onscreen, or watch my line, or feel the rod tip to indicate getting thumped. Matter of fact, in my 60 odd years of Crappie chasing I've probably used a float/bobber with a jig under it .... maybe 2-3 times.

I generally use one of my hand tied marabou jigs like this one. The marabou is great just sitting still under the cork and moving.Name: 20230924_144723.jpg

Hard to beat a Bobby Garland under a float slow rolled. Used to use Renosky Keystone Minnows the same way

this here ducktail handtie is one of my favorites on private waters under a very small pinch on quill float about 3 foot deep
quite deadly on multiple species and get this , that is 4 lb test it's tied onto , that gives an idea of its actual size ....

I haven't used a float a ton, but I too have had good luck with crappie nibbles.

Facts my friend, those that downplay the importance of scent on jigs ketch way less fish than them that understand it’s importance
