    Default Unusual catches

The past week has been unusual. Earlier this week I caught my PB Warmouth that was almost 8". Then yesterday while bass fishing with a 4" floating worm at a city park lake I caught a dandy Oscar. Someone had released their pet I guess. Beautiful fish but they don't belong in there. I heard they were good to eat so I gave it to another fisherman to try. Wonder what else is swimming in there. Did catch three bass with the biggest over 3#.Name: IMG_6460.jpg

Interesting catch and no they don’t belong in there.

    Cool Catches !
I’m not sure the Oscar would have made it through winter anyway .

That’s a dandy of an Oscar! And fight is usually their middle name. They’re pretty yummy too.

There was another one that was dying a couple weeks ago at that lake so there was at least two put in there. Don't think they would survive the winter but who knows. Would have been a blast on the ultralight. One that size could eat a lot of bass and bluegill before it gets cold.

Nice outing. It’s a shame folks “dump” unwanted or oversized fish into public waterways.

Oscars are just so aggressive, many moons ago I bought 3 lil ones , eventually there was only one giant in the tank that would actually bite the hand that fed it , it often left teeth marks on my finger nails when I hand fed it …

We have a couple in the local water reservoir thats closest to my house.
We’ve seen them over several years , so they make it through our winters .
One is solid white , the other, goldfish orange and white .
I’m guessing they must be sterile or both same sex , because I haven’t seen any little ones.

Some fish require really specific spawning conditions to reproduce . I know a location full of them , but I never see a young one in there , they are all big ones …
