I've used Southern Pro Crappie Craws ... 1.5" ... in Pumpkin Orange with good results. Lake I fished with them was a newly formed lake with stocked Black Crappie from other lakes in the state.
Below is a pic of that craw & the color.

Mr Twister Micro Craw. I have the black & red and the LA Craw colors. I'm a fan.

1 1/4" is a perfect size for the Mr Twister Micro Craw !
Color wise, bright, dark or in between is a personal choice - not a fish's that doesn't have a color preference. The lure's action says it all. Yesterday we caught fish on bright chartreuse and muted colors in murky water; lure size ranged from 3/4" to 1", four different lure actions. The strikes were hard!

    Hello Fellow Anglers-

As I researched more on finding crawfish lures for panfish, some anglers prefer a beavertail style bait better due to the profile and action it presents to the fish, a crawfish that is escaping which entices the bite.

One of the beavertails that is highly recommended is the “Berkley Smartscent Hawg”. But it’s wayyyy to big for panfish. Any of you folks know if there is a more panfish slayer size one or something similar and effective?

Thanks for reading and mass thanks for replying.

Good enough for me when choosing lures - especially ones I make or modify. The craw would be the last shape and action I would cast. In fact, the PILL or BULB are tailless grub bodies and along with 1 1/4" slim sticks, guarantee fish caught once fish are found. Those two alone accounts for the most fish I've caught on any day, on any water to include a modified swim bait such as the RUNCL. Two modifications of a RUNCL 1 3/4" swimbait is another sure-fire fish-provoker.
