    Default 9-02-25 weekly meetup

Well , my fishing buddy with tiny hook micro jigs beat me in numbers today .
He caught 57 to my 43 for a total of 100 between us . But I did catch some bigger fish .
Most of the fish were micros , with the majority being green sunfish. Got to love those little guys !
I missed several that were grabbing the tail of my trout magnet , but missed the size 8 hook . I used a black TM most of the day , but my biggest shellcracker was caught on a bison .

The lake was over four feet low. It’s about two feet from winter pool already . They must still be working on the dam during the fall and winter months . I prefer to fish the lake at winter pool , once it stabilizes.
Fairly windy most of the day too . Even had an unexpected sprinkle just before we left .
My fish were caught on a couple of shortened Abu Garcia (4”11”) Mass Beat 3 rods and 500 Shimano Soare reels , or a 5’ Daiwa Presso rod . Most were caught on 2# Floroclear line , but I also used 4# Ande Tournament yellow line . My first time using this line and it cast pretty good under the conditions.
I started using 1/32 ball head jigs , but lost two in five casts on the rocky points right at the beginning . I switched to a 1/64 TM head . I didn’t get the distance I would have liked , but I didn’t get hung up as much either.
    Fun day , with a friend .
Some of my better ones .

Those are some fat greenies. They don't get big but are always willing to bite anything. Bottom fish looks like he has at least a couple cousins in her/his belly. I can't tell the difference between the two. Usually catch 1-2 while bass fishing with 4" finesse worms that become flying fish. Love those redbreast pics.
