had a few minutes the other day on my way back to work after doing some big mower maintenance , filled the rear tires with that there rubber foam , 80 bux and no more flat tires on the big boy , thank goodness .....
decided to roll in and pitch a jig a bit . found a few that were right finicky ....
overcast sky and not many holding under the dock is my guess , could see swarms of shad out in the cove on the surface .....typically makes for a slow visit with that much bait out in open water ....
was fun though and back to work I went .....
fish went back to the water ....
and onto the next adventure
because as we should know well by now ....

Nothing breaks up a monotonous work day like a fishing lunch break. I remember jumping in my golf cart at work in the refinery I worked at for 30 years and heading to one of the water retention ponds. I’d catch bream, gar, shoe pic, and mud cats. When the Mississippi River level dropped very low I’d catch red drums off the crude terminal docks.
Salt water weighs more than fresh water and when the river level dropped very low the gulf of America would back up the Mississippi River to just south of New Orleans. Those bull reds would come up river probably to feed on all the bait in the fresh water layer.
Bon Temps!!
