Default I Shortened my Abu Garcia MB3

Yesterday I shortened my four piece 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat 3 .
I cut it just in front of the green wrap in front of the handle . This leaves the thread wraps and epoxy coating on the lower end of the rod for reinforcement.
I then cut the next section just above the stripper guide .
That left a piece of the second section about 6-7” long . This fit into the handle section about four inches .
I coated the end of the short section and working it in and out spread my epoxy, slid it into the handle section and lined up the alignment arrows and wiped off excess epoxy and set aside until today , I took it fishing .
The rod ended up approximately 4’8” .
    I paired with a Shimano Soare bb500spg and 2# Ande mono .
First cast , a light sidearm flip , went about fifty feet with .5g jig .
Twitched the jig back and it felt good in the hand .
First fish caught on it was a 5-6” shellcracker that put a sweet bend into the short MB3 .
    I like it .
I’ve got another MB3 that has a second from the top section break on me . I’m going dig it out and see what I can do with it.
Ended up with seven fish for the hour I fished before the heat and humidity ran me off the unshaded docks .
The connection point was right at the fish’s tail in the first picture.
