I haven't fished for crappie since June when the heat kicked in. Scratching the itch by doing some bass fishing at one of the cement ponds close to home. Fishing early around 6am and back home by 10 or earlier. Been doing pretty good catching 2-8 bass each morning using 4" floating finesse worms on a 1/16 slider head. Quite a few are in the 14-18" range but nothing bigger yet. Had an audience in 4th picture, look just above my cap.![]()

Looks like fun!
I too have taken the summer off but have dipped a line but the crappie were not in their usual places around my dock so not really motivated to keep after it. also rehabbing from stent and then the pacemaker/defib implant. back to playing Raquetball and actually feeling like myself again.
I am in Boston right now in delayed state waiting for cruise which hurricane set back two days. good news is we get to explore city and staying right on harbor which has incredible views and water taxi's taking us all around for duck cruises and others. heading to Portland then nova Scotia tomorrow for another Music cruise. Boat full of old farts rocking to other oldies bands.
course my buddies are sending me pics of nice sized crappie they caught as soon as I left area. One in LSL and the other in Mark Twain. looking forward to September when the crappie usually turn on and I can get back to doing what I do.
