    Default When ya .....

Ketch you a red ear sunfish about the size of the crappie you are currently ketchn , it's a good day for sure
The fish were really finicky and the bites were often VERY difficult to detect even with a float , saw more than a few take it ever so gently and spit it before I could engage .....
Wasn't the best visit , but it wasn't the worst either , let them all go and off I went .....
I used a micro jig under a float about 4 foot deep in 12 fow .....
tried free handing a bit and it wasn't working at all ....
had to keep it crawling along at the same depth to get bit, any fluctuation of that presentation was just regular ole fishing , not ketchn
    KABOOM is near ....

That is a serious Shellcracker. Our state record Red Ear was caught somewhere close to Eagle 1 @ 3.3 pounds. It must have looked funny being that big.

They are such tremendous fighters. I love them when they turn sideways and circle around!

seen some of them beasts on the internet , I can't even begin to imagine one in the 3 lb range ,probably around 1.25 or 1.5 in these parts is pretty much as big as I have seen , but we don't have many spots with them in real large numbers and or what I would suppose is the "perfect" environment
