    Default Garmin shuts off repeatedly

What the **** could be wrong with my Garmin Striker 9 SI. Works great then starts shutting down. It restarts then shuts down again in about 10 minutes.

When it is on it works great.
Thinking bad lithium battery but it recharged in 15 minutes after all day intermittent usage due to shutting down.
    Charged reading is 14v.
    No short found in wiring.

Will they overheat in hot weather?

I've heard of overheating but usually is another problem. I know it sounds redundant, but I would go through go the connections again to make sure nothing is loose. Also, you might want to make sure unit is updated.

I agree and also look for any signs of corrosion. Especially at all plugs.

Almost sounds like the power button has gone bad? Does it by chance feel any different than usual when pushing it to turn the unit on & off?

You said it restarts, does it restart on its own or do you have to power it up? As stated, check all connections, splices, etc.
