Yum, looks and sounds delicious. Added bonus…. No mushrooms![]()
Decided to have Crappie & Grits for breakfast this morning. Still eating some soft food till I get the new tooth. We have used this seasoning on Hamburgers & Country Fried Steak with tasty results so I decided to try it on Crappie fillets.
Whenever I cook this kind of stuff I always use unsalted butter so I don't end up ruining a meal. This blend doesn't have a bunch of salt like some of the other blends I have shown here in the past and the flavor is smooth & savory.
Same MO on the cooking, 3 pats of unsalted butter and about tablespoon of seasoning. I always fry the seasonings for at least 5 minutes this also releases any water within the butter. Once close to being cooked all the way thru I do one flip & swirl the fillets several times till a light crust in applied.

Topping a batch of well cooked 20 minute grits with the fillets then drizzling the balance of the butter all over the top completes the dish.
Close up shots always make my mouth water. The Buttery Steakhouse seasoning blend flavored up this plate of Crappie fillets very well without the usual Heat from red pepper most blends have.
