I use the thill type string thingys, trimmed up they cast nice through the rod eyes, and I use thill pro series or wobble bobbers slip bobbers with brass inserts.

I've been using the Stan slip bobbers and stoppers this year, and they work great. I use 2lb test on my bluegill setup and the Stans stopper stays put wherever I set it even on that thin of a line. I've really been impressed

I use small diameter cotton string. Snug it down tight, trim the tag ends, and when it gets wet, the knot swells and grips the line tighter. You can still slide the stop to adjust for depth, but if done right, the stop stays where you put it. I pre-tie them up on the small plastic straws that are used for stirring coffee
