I went last week and didn't do any good at all.
Water was stained pretty bad and the surface was in the upper 70's.
    I fished the Chowning area.

I’ve thought about going but haven’t heard anyone mention anything about the color or temps.

Overheard a guy talking about pulling cranks and had success but didn’t say if it was recent

I have not been, but a buddy got his limit last week, trolling pink and black cranks in 30 to 35 feet of water. Every fisherman lies, but I saw pics, and he is pretty trustworthy.

Hey, buddy ... yeah, that sounds about right for T-ville. I haven't Pushed cranks at Taylorsville, but I did do pretty good Pushing jigs on a couple of trips, many years ago. It was probably a little earlier than this, but it wasn't flooded so much back then.

I plan on taking a trip here soon. Its is only 1hr from my house to settlers trace ramp and i have recently got bit by the trolling bug. I am going all in with planer boards and ordering clip on weights now. Never used this combination just been reading and going to apply it in the field.

I hope you're planning on fishing during the week and early in the day, otherwise you may be forced to shorten up the lengths you can run your boards ... due to the boat traffic (and believe me, some boaters have no regard for your "space" when it interferes with their "fun" or their "pathway" to wherever they wanna go )

I've seen a lot of people slow trolling (drifting), long line trolling, Spider Rigging, and/or Pushing out in the deeper waters in all the years I've fished there, but I've never seen anyone running planer boards.

Luck2ya ... and give us a report (w/pics if possible) when you go.

Well i didn't get to go to taylorsville yet but did go to patoka with my new church tx-6 boards. We was catching fish and the boards really give you some options. But they wind fought us with the smaller boards. I am going to upgrade to line counter reels and offshore or-12 boards next. I am still planning a tville trip, thanks for the info about how busy it gets. I figured a mid week daytime trip should be best and avoid weekends.
