Fingers and toes. All from sports. Football, wrestling, Rugby and martial arts. I found out the hard way that a broken big toe will put you on crutches

I broke both ankles as a youth playing sports. I broke both great toes simultaneously being stupid. I broke fingers on a grain elevator at Grandmas farm. I broke 4 ribs on the left side wrestling.

I broke my wrist when I was 6, tore all my legiments and tendens in my ankle in football. Tore up my thumb pretty good trying to ride bulls. Got kicked in the temple by a horse.

I had a Honda XR-250 which was very good in the woods, but I found out they weren't nearly as good on a motocross track. I got a wild hare about riding a moto race and so I did. Between the XR-250 and my lack of skill, I managed to break some bones. All of my competitors were younger than I was and it was in the middle of the season, so they did have some experience on me. After one lap I was in last place and decided that I wasn't going to let that happen. It was a bad mistake to think that. I charged into the whoops and lost total control of my bike. When I was being x-rayed at the ER, I asked the technician how many ribs were broken, and she replied that to her untrained eye she could count six. I never did ask the doctor what the official count was though. As mentioned in a previous post that broken ribs were the worst, I have to agree. I put the pain level right up there with kidney stones.

Needless to say, that was the end of my motocross career. I did go on to race two hare scrambles and won both in my class.

    Somehow I believe that!

Great thread, great stories, some sounding pretty terrible, thanks for sharing. Ain't life wonderful, the up, the downs, and even the recovery from broken bones. At least you got a story about it to share, right!
