    We use no chemicals in our yard and we have fireflys.

    We have quite a few around here. Never thought to try any for bait. Considering all I've read above, it might be wise to let them do their thing & make more, then fish with something else instead. I've seen all kinds of bugs fly into a bug zapper suspended over a pond, though I can't recall any fireflies ever getting toasted.
