    Default Cranking Out Limits

Saturday my buddy and I fished a small memorial tournament in memory of a friend's father who passed.

We pulled cranks off the back of my boat from about 7-12:15 (when my TM batteries finally died lol). We fished 100% main lake; flats, channel, etc. It seems the flats were the best, but we picked up several in the channel and right on the transition line as well. We were running them about 15 ft deep I think, in everything from 25-40 ft of water. We ended up with 27 crappie; our biggest 7 combined for 6.53, landing us 6th out of 14 teams. We just couldn't get any decent sized ones that day, our 3 best were right under a pound.

Pink was BY FAR the best color, followed by chartreuses. I've never noticed a day where color made so much of a difference than Saturday, for what we were doing anyways. If I had had 6 pink cranks, I would have ran all 6 pink. They were hammering it.

Hard to beat pink & chart, on Smithville they like blue/chrome for some reason. Nice job guys!

I was gonna ask the same question!!

I've tried pulling cranks 3x so far this year on Smithville. Always catch a couple, (and often on pink!!) but...never hammering them! Trying different spots and everything. I just don't think it's time yet??
