Took my dad to my honey hole in Slidell to drown 100 shiners. Made the first stop on one of my most productive brush piles and didn't come off of spot lock until we were ready to head back to the launch. The school of crappie on the live scope was roughly 6 ft tall and about 40ft to 50ft long. There were easily several hundred crappie in this school. As soon as the shiners settled under the bobbers the slabs would lay the bobber over on its side and slabs were coming over the gunnel one after another. We ended the day at 1130 with 39 in the box with just as many throwbacks, 2 bass, 1 chinquipin, 1 bluegill and 3 blue cats. It was a really good day getting out on the water with my dad, just like old times. Left them biting before the heat set in and treated my dad to lunch at Mindendorfs before heading back home to clean some fish.

We are planning a speckled trout and redfish trip this weekend down in either Dulac or Cocodrie.
That’s some serious catching! Congratulations and thanks for sharing with us

Is that your pops in the picture? Looks very familiar. Is he a Pearl River boy?

Yes sir, that's my dad. He is from Dulac, LA. (Good Ol' Bayou Boy) Trying to talk him into a crappie trip next weekend, but that might be task since we've have been hammering the trout down in Lake Pelto.
Looks like an awesome trip and the fact that you were able to bring your dad just makes it that much more special! Thanks for sharing!
