You never know unless you go and it was worth it being so close. And you had some action to compensate for those scrapes and bites.

our recent rains have produced more water than our lakes will hold ...
the rivers are running very high and fast and lots of lakes are way above full ....
I have been kinda riding it out since most of my bank spots are underwater ....
remembered a location I used to hit in high water episodes yesterday ....
went in for the win ....came out with several scratches and a skeeter bite to boot ...
managed a few bluegill and a tiny bass , but it was WAY difficult in that jungle ....
saw lots of surface activity in there and it was obvious I was on fish ....
too bad the setting was so terribly tough to hit ....
probably won't hit it again , was a bit hard on my old body ,,,
banks are super steep and vegetation has taken it all over ....
on with the show, dont you know ....
the ONLY real upside , left work at 12:22 and arrived at said location at 12:26 .....![]()

Maybe a machete woulda helped with the vegetation. Decent fish for your efforts

Yeah being that close it might be worth seeing if you could make it a little easier to get to. No pain, no gain.
I remember back in the day you had photos of some of the paths you had to use to get to the water. Some were really steep. We’re not that young anymore.

Sometimes we have to weigh the pain against the gain . That’s why a lot of my places are docks and boat ramps . And the rocks around those boat ramps can be tricky .
