    Default Going to get Livescope

Going to buy a new livescope, going with Garmin and the biggest screen I can afford (12")
I know nothing about them, except for fishing with a buddy a couple of times that has one.
Transducer with mount on trolling motor.
    Any tips from experienced users?

    Thanks

If mounting on the trolling motor shaft, you want a good 0-degree mount that gets it away from motor. There is a guy on here who is selling a 3D printed 0-degree mount that is working out for me so far (lvs 32 & 34 0 degree standoff trolling shaft mount), or you can spend more money on the Fished Obsessed Dominator if you think that you want to switch to down imaging and perspective modes as well.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Spend as much time on the water as you can with it, that’s the best teacher.

Also, remember that Livescope is a tool and not the only means for catching fish--your old methods don't stop working because you have a Livescope. One of the ways that I did learn it was by still spider rigging until I understood how the setting affect the image. In a lot of ways, I like looking at the Livescope image to confirm fish in my track or route while trolling fast better than using 2D or DI--I pretty much use only my 360, Livescope, and SI these days no matter the fishing type.

I'm an old dock shooter, I have seen how livescope can tell me if the fish are there and where they are under the dock.
And help eliminate docks with no fish under them.

I like dock shooting with mine as well; seeing what’s going on in the water live does help to eliminate dead zones and cover more water faster.

The livescope or the 3D printed 0-degree mount? The mount has been good so far--survived lots of crank bait pulling runs at 1.5 mph or greater and even a few bumps and accidentally turning my trolling motor the wrong direction when stowing, and only allowing my LVS32 to just rotate positions when that happens. Once I figured out that I still needed the rubber grip or electrical tape to keep the mount from sliding turning on the trolling motor shaft, it's held the same position since.

Just now learning mine, do I like it? very much, do I like finding fish and they won't bite? heck no! LOL
It's really something to see how the fish are reacting and moving around.
