We had a great weekend of friends, fun and catching. Started the weekend with four boats hitting the lakes close to camp. The weather turned out cool and windy but the catching was fairly good. Most fish were pre-spawn with a few caught looking close. Jerry and I had the pleasure of having Buckeyecrappie in the boat as he and Maryln came up from Ohio to visit.
We started fishing Thursday and John stuck his first fish shortly after getting on the water.

After getting that first fish he rewarded himself with a snack and proceeded to offer to share. Now, not sure who hasn't heard but there is an old tradition going back to the old sailing ships that bananas on a boat were taboo for fishing. Well, you guessed it... He had bananas, one for each of us! Boy did we razz him for that.... Not sure he caught another fish till he had eaten all of them himself! Just saying....
Friday morning everyone was out to ensure we had enough fillets for Saturday's fish fry. John joined us again and brought apples for a snack this time. Yep... He had a pretty successful day of catching with no bananas in the boat.

After all the boats came in, we cleaned a nice mess of fish and gathered to tell a few tall tales at our liars club. We enjoyed bratts and all the dishes brought to pass.

Saturday we always have a little friendly tournament for five fish weight and all boats brought in fish to weigh. This year's totals for those that weighed were...
    Steelguy--7.18 lbs
    Buckeyecrappie-5 lbs
    Birdbander-3.94 lbs
    Flytier-2 lbs

After a good day on the water (be it very windy), the fish fry was delicious!!!

Another great camp in the books. The fishing was good even with the crazy weather and wind. After Buckeye Banana cursed the boat the first day I thought we were doomed but apples must be the antidote. Thanks to all that attended, it was small but it was fun. See everyone next year the first weekend in May if not sooner.

Another great camp. Thanks to everyone for the Michigan hospitality. The food was awesome and the laughter was even better this year. Thanks Jeff and Jerry for the boat ride and getting me on the fish. Thanks to Dean for the cake, John for the syrup to bring home and to all who brought firewood to keep warm with. The campfire stories were hilarious. Looking forward to next year! Maybe we won’t see o many Macys Day Parade floats on Crooked!
