Default Good Day Today for Single Poling

Hit the Pearl for some more engineering on my Skeeter. I decided to fish a secret weapon I'm developing for Ross Barnett but it didn't do so hot in the river system. Anyway I pulled out my 11ft Wally Marshall SOLO and just single pole fished the patches of cover mixed with structure. Now I will admit, I had to tease the Studs to bite. The Tight-eyes thumped my BGBS so much I wished I had a tube of Crazy Glue with me.

Silverroach text a minute ago about my presentation move to get better fish to commit and I told him about the video we made to support a Louisiana Sportsman Magazine article I was in. I need to find a link to the video, the article was Named Fishing Above the Fray written by Keith Lusher. Anyway using the presentation technique fairly frequently, I mean the Hammers really took most of the jigs on the drop after numerous cycles of the jig. I didn't catch a single Slab on the first drop. I was working the same hole in the vegetation for 4-5 minutes but they would Smoke the jig when the commitment took place.

This cooler is larger than my usual Roadie, the Roadie is sitting in the Champion up on The Rez waiting on me to show up. Guess you can use my shoe for reference to the size of the fish, they are nice. I used a #1 Gold Hildebrandt Colorado spinner with a 1/16 jighead & BGBS to locate Gill & Shell Cracker beds today too. The smaller Ditch Pickles got treated to the box too if they bit the spinner bait. Found numerous beds, got to pass on to my brother so He can take his granddaughter fishing.

Came home with a appetite, the is a single order of Fajita Nachos from the Mexican Restaurant here in Kiln, MS. Fantastic food at fantastic prices. Now that is a 1/3 sheet pan liner of Steak Fajita Nachos for $14 + tax. Kaboom!

Sounds like a great day on the water with a mixed bag of slabs. Patience and great presentation certainly paid off big time. Nachos were frosting on the cake. Don't get much better than that for a day's fishing.

The size of the Fajitas is way more important than the size of the fish. I will be cleaning & sharing the fish but not sharing the Fajitas.

Good fish and fajitas. Never had them but the idea is appealing.

Nice catch brother. And I look forward to seeing the presentation video. I obviously need it. Thursday nothing but shorts. Today, Jack fish, bass, catfish, bream and not a single crappie to commit.
Of course probably should have went back to the Pearl where I was catching them earlier this week. But that’s just me, I like new challenges. Tight lines !

I love some homemade nachos. I get a lb of hamburger and a taco seasoning kit and onion and cook then take some chi chi's and extra sharp cheddar or whatever cheese and mix and melt and drizzle over the meat and nachos
