    Default The silverside connection

So , I went to the ole dock yesterday on my lunch break , knowing full well if them there silversides were doing it along the edges , it was going to be a good one ......
BOY HOWDY was I wrong , it was more in line with one of them there you can't believe it legendary holy you know what batman , hold my beer and watch this type of venue GOOD !
MAN was it on fire yawl , It was a make ya wanna sit down and ketch every single one of them things.
AND there was all sorts of fish playing let's get ketched , 3 inch crappie , bluegill , sand bass and whopper stopper big crappie as well .....just WOW good stuff ....
might about get your rod ripped out of your hand or your 8 lb test broke or EVEN get you one of them there you all deserve it, fishee spankings ....
So highly entertaining that words don't describe it well . just pitch that jig and be ready to SET THE HOOK if you hit the water with the jig .....not even kidding ...
got you folks a lil short gif of them silversides doing fish .....um....reproduction ,,,,is the nice word for it .....
and a few internet photos of the actors as well and then ....
a few of the more desirable size crappie , everyone seems to want to ketch .......
no fish were killed and the beat down was about even when it was all said and done . I got my knuckle about broke by my jig coming out of a huge really hot crappie right on the swing , man did the lead head hit me like a bullet .....it hurt bad and made me leave , not kidding
was on my knees about half the time trying to get my jig and or fish or both back from under the dock where they were running after the hook set ....
lost 2 jigs to structure and got my plastic ripped off my jig on one fish and the spanking continued , sometimes me was spanking and sometimes I was the spankee.....
2 presentations involved ....both involved a long pitch parallel to either the walkway or the pontoons on the pontoon boats ....and up under them pontoons was EVEN better .....
let it settle about halfway down in 8 fow if it was possible when it hit the water,
(lots hit it on the fall)
then crank it at a speed that holds it about 3 or 4 feet deep ....and when you give it a twitch ,
(if you ain't already been bit by that point ) ....
be ready because a split second after the twitch ...
    K A B OOO M !
used 3 different 1/16 oz colored heads , one deep pink , one bright orange and one yellow ....plastic bodies remained the same , Arkie solid body tubes in dark pink with bright chart tails .....
it truly don't get no better folks , just saying

Awesome video of the shad movement along the edge of the docks ... when they are running like that it is like stealing as the crappies no matter the size will hit a jig almost immediately when you drop it on top of the running shads. Very good catch of the slabs and good post Ketch ... thanks for sharing

That little short video is awesome, as well as them there crappie. Looks like a great time was had for sure. Them there flying jig heads can hurt some kind of bad when they connect. Thankfully the hook on said jig missed. Thank you for the ride along, my friend. Really enjoy your lunch time adventures...
