Default Sunrise Service at the Chattanooga National Military Cemetary

A friend and I attended this yesterday. Pretty neat service. It was the 49th year held by the Salvation Army. They had a brass band playing. A guy dressed in Irish clothes came strolling across the hill playing Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. That was great. He was dressed to the nines!! Sang a few hynms and then the lady over the South East + 2 more states gave the message and did a really great job. It was all about Jesus and his saving Grace!!!! I will most likely go back next year. If you ever find one near you, I encourage anyone to attend. It was on hill with the US Flag and the hill has 4 upright canon barrels. One on each corner. This place looks like a small Arlington.

The Salvation Army is a great organization. Same for the USO. Went to our base USO every day in Thailand. Good people. Sorry a little off topic. Those organizations just bring back memories.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It sounds like a truly moving service with the unique blend of music and inspiring messages. The setting with the flag and cannons must have added a solemn and majestic touch. Your description makes it easy to see why you'd want to return next year. For those interested in meaningful and reflective gatherings, this seems like a wonderful event to attend. Thank you for the recommendation!
