    Default Ulterra probs

Maybe I can help someone else out.
Ulterra Ipilot link. I had a problem last fall, the stow/deploy menu just vanished from my remote. I called the support line, they tried to help but only advice was to make sure all software was up to date, and hit factory reset. I did all that and got my stow/deploy menu back. Worked fine for several trips, including last weekend. I almost always keep the foot pedal unplugged and in storage.
Well, yesterday it did it again when I first got to the lake. I was able to deploy and stow from the Humminbird menu, got through the day fishing. Today I tried to sort it out, no luck with software or resets.
I finally dug out the foot pedal and plugged it up. Hit the mode button till the amber light was on, Ulterra mode. Now my remote is showing the menu item again. Sheesh this thing is kinda sketchy, though I love it when its working. So if you lose that stow/deploy from your remote, try plugging in your foot pedal and toggling till the amber light on it stays on. Hope this helps!

I've got buddies with Ulterras. Both have had issues with the belts getting loose. One hit a dock and the other caught a stick in his. Both had to learn on the fly how to adjust them. From the stories, I believe I'll stick with my Terrova. Although the auto deploy is nice!

I've had the ulterra for 5 years, let me say it has not worked more than it has. Last year Ryan at Chip's Marine in Sullivan Illinois talked to minnkota and they agreed to basically rebuilt my entire unit as it has never been right since new. Since the rebuild it has been working well, I have not used it a lot but when I do I would like for it to work. With my experience I could not recommend an ulterra to anyone

When I went looking for a new spot lock TM 4-5 years ago, it came down to a Terrova or an Ultera. I chose the Terrova because during my research, the Ultera just had too many problems with the Stow/Deploy feature. It's been a long-term problem for many, it's not an isolated issue. For what these TM's cost, I think MK should do better in solving the problem and offer its customers a solution.
