I made a return trip to Forest Ingram today fishing from 9:30AM till around 2PM. The wind was brutal, but the fish were willing. I kept another limit and returned endless fish. Same set up with males on beds and the female staged just a little deeper waiting the magic hour.

Back to Forest Ingram today and another limit. The fish were slow this morning, so I changed over to single pole on isolated brush in 24 to 36 inches of water, I caught endless short males with the occasional larger Crappie mixed in. I had been using the Zman WormZ in Chartreuse but changed over to the Purple Haze on a 1/30oz jig head. Males and females were tight to the beds together. I couldn't get close enough with a jig and bobber and the fish refused to move off the beds or chase a bait. Single pole allowed me to drop a bait on top of the nest often catching a male follow immediately by a female in the same spot. Females haven't spawned yet, but trying to get a female off the hook would often cause eggs to come out so they're very close. Pic later tonight or maybe tomorrow. My back is bothering me so I might wait till tomorrow to clean them.

Wind had to be tough. I thought about coming after I got off at 12 but it was stout then.

Crappie just don't seem to bite if the weather is perfect (for the fisherman), LOL. And yes.........the wind was brutal; that's the main problem with my back and shoulder.

You should still go early tomorrow. There were two larger boats a kayak and a canoe on the lake today. All seemed to have catch at least a few.
