    Look to me like a cracker been messing around with a bluegill making hybrid babies .
    They usually fight pretty good . Like a cracker.
    My fishing buddy calls them all brim .

    Good on ya bro , my guess as well and lots of variants of hybrid red ear crossed to coppernose in the there ….and yes they are big time fighters

    Definitely some hybrid hanky panky going on there. Hybrids grow really fast in the beginning, been seeing more hybrids here the last few years but the redear and gills do spawn together side by side.

    The level it seems to be in there , seems to grow each year, my bet is the mixture goes back many years and generations due to the level of inconsistency in the appearances of the hybrids
