I have had mine done similarly with no problems

I am ready to install the heading sensor, but my preferred spot may not be suitable. As shown in the picture, the sensor would be mounted to the console. The instal info say unobstructed path. The occupied front seat would be in the path. Anybody done the same without issue?

That is where mine is mounted and I haven’t had any issues. I have also had one on the back of the boat also with no problems

I have two HB heading sensors and the MK heading sensor mounted to my boat without issues so far—two on the bow and one on the transom. When I upgrade my 1199s to something newer, maybe I can remove one.

If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.silverside thanked you for this post
When i installed one on my stratos i ended up having to put it beside the drivers console because there was no magnetic interference there. Using a compass check for magnetic interference where you're going to mount it. I couldn't install mine by the trolling motor because the compass went berzerk when i turned the trolling motor on.
