    Default Not on the banks...yet!

Took a trip to Truman just to see what was going on, since nobody fishes that lake anymore. Or...nobody posts anyway!!

Still feeling the sting from last year with the spawn happening so early and it being over by the time camp rolled around.

Tried the usual haunts to no avail and not really surprised. Water temp at the surface was 57-58ºF at Bucksaw to U Highway Bridge.

Thought I'd head up river to see if the water temp changed. Got to Otter and...still the same water temp. (??!?!)

Banks still weren't producing so fished a few other spots in the area and picked up 7 but they were nice ones. All females.

Eggs looked like they were at least a couple weeks away from being ready, so...probably give it another whirl in a week to 10 days....pending the wind and weather.

Jeff n I never have time to fish these days and the R00ster moved north (Smithville area I think).
I was expecting an early spawn but we had a pretty decent cold spell and many inches of cold rain.
Been a good amount of current on the Grand because of the rain and probably explains the even water temps.
I haven't been on the water scouting, but based on weather here, I'd say the banks will start seeing some action in about a week-10 just like you said Joe.
Too freaking windy for me to wanna play on the water...

I always knew you could catch some fish. It's so generous of you let Bill have them all when your together.
