Thread: Pfueger Monark spinning reel

They have this reel at the local walmart for $43, size 20, i have a dedicated 2 Brothers Genesis 7'6 bobber fishing pole with the huge eyelets, real nice pole by the way, i know a $43 reel on a $200 pole, it's not going to be used very much at all, i mainly spidder rig or pull crankbaits, right now i have a Shimano Symetre 750FI on it and it seens a little small because i'm gonna use it occasionally for walleye at the local res, anybody have one of these that could comment on it?

I don’t have one of those but last summer I fished a Pflueger Trion on a St. Croix Premier, so that was a (once) $40 reel on a $160 rod. I fished Pflueger Trions for years. They were always good. The Monarch is not really any different in design. Maybe has an extra bearing or something, but that difference would be negligible.
