I bought one of these tm mounts today. Now I'm not sure if I want to install it. Seems too cheap to be true.

I install 60in shaft, 112# thrust, Saltwater Minn-Kota Ulterra Trolling motors on those mounts. Over 50 in the last 10 years without a single failure. These are Coastal run boats that see more abuse than a freshwater boat will. The retaining clip is chinchy buy a small stainless hitch pin to replace the one provided. Don't worry it will take what you dish out. Now as far as the Puck it must be Thru Bolted.

Agreed with Rojo. Only difference is I put a small padlock instead of a cotter pin. It’s worth it

No regrets here either, 80# Riptide with 60" Shaft.
Been holding tight for 3 years so far.

I've been using one for 5 years. I had one on a deep-v w/54" shaft for 4 years and now have one on a bass boat w/45" shaft. Never had a problem with either set-up. Like you I was skeptical. I almost went with the metal slide mount, but I saw somewhere that they can be annoyingly noisy. These mounts are surprisingly strong. I've use that little cotter pin for the retaining clip, no problems with that either. One exception is on trips, I use a pad lock.
These mounts are great if you have to remove the TM for any reason.
They make a little bigger on that was specified for my thirty six volt sixty inch Ulterra.
I went with it with the thoughts that if it goes stupid and won’t stow, I could pop it loose there and just roll the whole mess into the boat and sort it out at home. Or at least back on the trailer. Have a padlock on it, but make sure the key is in the boat.
Two seasons on it so far and all good.

Thanks for all the pep talk guys. I guess what bothers me is the off brand instead of Minn Kota brand. Probably made the same though I guess.
