Default Tight Lipped Fishermen in West Tn

Don't know why all the fishermen in West Tn have to be so tight lipped about where they catching or what they are catching. Most of us amateur fishermen are not going to bother your mats or beds. We are just wanting to enjoy the day or week and catch a few to eat.

Many people have spoken about the where & on what & how deep & what color, etc. etc. to friends/family/online "friends" via website posts or word of mouth .... only to return to the "where" to find it covered up (or fished out) because of it. Even those that don't give out so many specifics, but post a picture of themselves holding up a Slab, or stringer of fish, with the surrounding banks as a backdrop to that picture, can be giving away the location of said catch & not even realize it. There are MANY "trolls" out there on the internet that do nothing but sift thru fishing websites looking for those hints or even the occasional full info report ... all in an attempt to find those "spots". They may be looking to cut down their own time on the water in order to reap the benefit of TMI from an unwitting poster, or even to give that info to others in order to make themselves look "bigtime" in the eyes of "followers".

With more and more people fishing these days, and with the current ability of today's electronics .... it's no surprise to me (& many others) that being "tight lipped" is more common today than in years past.
