Nice. Good looking rod
I spent an hour and fifteen minutes today breaking in a new rod .Possibly a JDM alternative, IMO , for those who don’t or won’t spend a bunch of money on a rod .
It’s a SEASIR Stream rod , 5’2” ULF .
Equipped with minimal reel seat and split woos burl grip , and Fuji guides . 40T Toray carbon fiber .
It was made in China , of course and sold by the big online retailer.
They actually shipped in a rod cloth , inside a cardboard tube , inside a cardboard box .
Best pack job I’ve seen from most retailers and manufacturers.
I was pleasantly surprised with the fit and finish of the rod and the way it felt in hand . Has a nice bend too . The rod is satin black with green guide wrapping.
Although my wood burl isn’t as nice as the one pictured for sale , it is nice .
I’m pleased with the rod for around $45 .
It’s a lot better feeling rod than the Palms pinwheel IMO .
Now to the breaking in , or official sliming as I like to call it.
I caught nine crappies , a few of them were in the slab category, a nice 4# bass , that took over ten minutes to get in , and a small bluegill.
I wished I’d taken a cooler with me , I’d be have crappies tacos tonight .
All were caught on a size 12 streamer hook micro jig and 2# Floroclear on my Soare XR 500spg .
In
I heard a lot of drag today .
Weather was sunny , mid 70’s with an occasional wind from about ten o’clock that made me time my casts .
Bank fishing can be productive !
Fun outing and a proper sliming .
BTW I ordered the 5’6” model to try also .![]()

Thanks Dave , I’m a sucker for cheap new ultralight rods .
They used to be cheaper , but the quality wasn’t as good either .
I’m finding some of the new ones are pretty good .
Some are big name rods , like the Major Craft Aji do rods that are under $100 .
I like the ones under $50 .![]()

I measured the distance from the top of my spool to the first guide and it’s 17”.
In this picture , the tail is about an 1” in front of the spool and the lower lip is about 2” past the first guide .
That would make the bass measure right at 18-18 1/2” long .
Nice ultralight bass on 2# line , from the bank .

Looks like somebody’s been reading my post .
Yesterday they had 13 of the 5’2” SeaSir Ultralight rods in stock . Today , they only have one left in stock .
I think they owe me something. LOL! Just kidding, I have no affiliation with them or the retailer.
I hope the new owner enjoy their new rods as much as I’m enjoying mine .
Definitely a sleeper IMO . I bet the next ones they get in will have an increase in price .

Awesome looking rod and price point. Your gonna get me in trouble with my wife if I order another rod…

S10CHEVY haha
What a slabtastic day. Really nice crappie and bass. Love those drag pullers. Only takes one of those to make my day and you got more than that. Bass here are already starting to bed even though water is still cool, low 50's.
