Camryn was at my house earlier than I asked her to be, ready to go. Sleepy, but ready to go. Friday morning we pick up the truck after signing papers to sell this house, so this was the last chance for she and I to do what we love to do together. I went to the closest ramp and found the area pretty picked over compared to what I usually find. One of my favorite banks gave up one good gill and a short crappie.
But the gill was a nice one. He didn’t want to come visit. So we moved on, which seemed to be the theme of the day. We picked a couple of crappie along the way and even they were being stingy.
And once again, they hadn’t woken up yet so we moved on to one of my bluegill haunts that has been very good to me in recent years. The meat fishers have found it and they leave few behind but we managed a half dozen or so.
And then they slowed to a crawl and we headed for yet another bank to see who was home. The answer was not many. I called NiNo who had put in at another ramp and we figured out where to meet. And off we went. Again. Pulled up to an undercut tree and commenced to having a good time for about 45 minutes before her sunburn caused us to get going. Look at the color of these boys. No question in my mind what’s happenin on the next full moon.
And the gills we found there were chubby too.
But this is the best pic of the entire trip, Camryn, my Queen and I all agree. It just came out nice.
This was all I had time for and the boat will be made ready to travel and between packing and appointments I’m just out of time. Sunday morning the entourage will head north bright and early and these fishing grounds will be in the rear view mirror. It’s bittersweet and leaving family and good friends behind is tough but the destination also has some of both waiting to ease the transition. Thanks for reading this and following along. I hope you’re getting out and finding a few. It’ll be a while before I post again but I’ll be reading yours so make sure i e got stuff to see. Til then……Skeet.
OMG!! would one of you super guys please fix my pictures, thanks.

I'll agree with Dave here. One can't have a better time on the water than with your daughter. Glad you all had a good time and that some came to play. Will miss your posts while you're getting moved and resettled. It's a bitter sweet ordeal, but hey, they can always come for a visit, as well as you all...Good luck with your move, and may the angel of the Highway smile on your travels my friend. Till you come back and share some more with us. All the best Tim...

It's always sad to leave any place whether its home, fishing lake or whatever ... but the one thing for a fact is that nobody can ever takes the memories you have made there go away or be forgotten... Am glad that you and your daughter was able to spend time and give us a great report and from the looks of things ... both had a very good time spending the time together for one last trip. Good catch as well and yes, those are some "huge" gills.
