Default I tuned up a few 500 reels

I tuned up four Shimano Sahara 500 reels and started the tune up of my Shimano Soare bb500spg reels .

Since my Shimano Nasci’s decided to bind up with a load , I decided to use the line roller kits I’d put in the Nasci’s in my Saharas .
I also added a couple ball bearings in the handle knob .
Really smoothed up the reels .
The Soare bb’s got the ball bearings treatment in the handle knob .
Made more difference than I thought it would.
I’m working on acquiring the correct line roller bearing kits for the Soare bb’s.

I was worried the Saharas would have the binding issue the Nasci have , but the one I used today did not .
By using parts off the Nasci reels , I’ll have enough extra spools where I can keep braid on one set of spools and Floroclear on another .

I took the reels to the docks today for a couple hours . Planned on catching afew on spinners and spoons , but the gills had another idea and wanted my micro jigs .
I caught twenty three in the two hours I fished with most being micros themselves but were fun on the 5’ Rosewood ULF rods I fished today , both reels were fished on Rosewood rods.
Most were caught with the Sahara combo .
Sunny , mid sixties , and a decent wind for a change made it a fun day .mp
Not many folks there today either .

The bearing count in the Sahara 500 went from 3/1 to 6/1 , and the Soare bb500spg went from 4/1 to 6/1 . And if the line roller I ordered fits the Soare bb , it’ll go to 8/1 .

That’s a good deal and I hope you know where to get the bearings for the BB. I put bearings in the knob of mine as it wasn’t turning much. I just got a bottle of Lucas reel oil and plan on benching a lot of my reels and giving them a cleaning, now that I have the time. Line rollers huh? I need to look into which I have that doesn’t have em.

There’s at least two model years of bb’s . I think 2018 and 2022 are both available and take different line roller bearing kits .
I have both in the C2000s models.
I have put the kit I’m looking at in my 2022 c2000s .
The kit list the 500 model .but doesn’t say what year .

I searched around about whether installing a roller bearing kit is worth it and found a post by Randy aka Troutmagnetman, who said if you are going to fish 2# line , bearing in the line roller instead of bushing is a must .
So I hope it fits .
I could take the kit out of my c2000s , but that’s too much trouble .
That reel has become a hybrid of parts and has become a slick reel .
The handle knob bearing made more difference in feel than I thought they would .
Worth the costs and effort . I bought the knob bearing in 10 and 20 packs pretty cheap off Amazon, cheaper than one line roller kit .
I let you know if it fits .

    Now I’m confused .
The GOMEXUS Titanium Line Roller on Amazon chart lists the Soare bb .
The chart on Gomexus’s website doesn’t , but does list the Shimano Nasci.
And if it fits the Nasci , it will not fit the Soare bb . I’ve tried .
Guess I’m going to have to pull the one out of my 22 Soare bb c2000s and see if it fits the 500 bb .
Amazon is where I bought the one for the c2000s .
I’ve noticed Victor carries the same one as is listed on Amazon . And he’s cheaper. I need a few .
