Default Fixed blade filet knife or electric filet knife?

I’ve been using Rapala wood handled filet knives for as long as I can remember. Two different sizes. Someone bought me a Gerber filet knife many years ago. I used it… and then put it back in the sheath and it hasn’t left the drawer since. I just don’t care for the rubber / plastic handle. Blade isn’t bad. I’m just used to / prefer my wood handled filet knives.

Last couple of times I cleaned Crappie (about 10 each time), my hands were aching. Getting older. Everything hurts lately.

So I’ve been considering an electric filet knife. Worth it? Or just take some Motrin and carry on with the old Rapala knives?

I'd get a Ozark Trail or Mr Twister elec filet knife and try it out ... then, if you like it, continue using it until it fails & then buy another one or consider a higher end one. And whatever brand you buy, make sure it has a "shark" blade (or buy it separate).

(Shark blade : goes by different names in different brands, but is essentially very thin from top of blade to serrated edge )

I use a fixed blade knife and it will run a big circle around my old rapala that has been with me for 25 years , it holds a razor edge and is the best of the fixed blades I have ever used , I own 3 of them ,2 are in the garage never used ....3.99 each back when I found them ....

For a dozen or so fish, I'm in the " just take some Motrin and carry on with the old Rapala knives?" camp.
While I do have an electric Mr. Twister Saltwater version, which is supposed to be tougher than the basic MT electric, I seldom use it. I also go up and over, then down along the rib cage to the belly when I fillet my panfish.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
