    Default A Little Time

Was all I had so I went to my office. Those fish must’ve been pounded the last couple of days cuz they weren’t likin me much. I spent a little while with my TSS rod and the Regal with the new Varivas 6lb braid. Big difference from the mono. Casting was about the same but nothing broke me off today. I’d put together a beetle spin that was one size up from the tiny ones I usually throw. The purple and chartreuse twin tail grub started the idea and a chartreuse big bite baits 1/32 head made for a good lookin setup. Some of the fish thought so too. The bluegill in the pic hit as soon as it hit the water and he wasn’t happy. Fought good, got his picture took and back he went. Total was about twelve fish for the day, bass mostly. Two were good and the others needed to grow some. A bit breezy but I was able to hide from it mostly. Redbreast and crappie also came to visit but no real size. I was still glad to see em. Temps started cooling as the sun went behind some of the trees and home I went. Good quick trip that is always welcome. I’m hoping that y’all are warm and maybe getting a chance for a quick trip like this. See ya soon……Skeet

The lizard just kinda sat there not caring that I was 20’ away. They usually scoot off and this one wasn’t big as some I see but I’d guess him between 7 and 8 feet. I still don’t trust em. That LMB in the last pic really gave me a time. The banshee with a white curl tail struck again.

You’re right Eric. They can move when they get a mind to. I’ve never had an aggressive experience with one and glad of it. I spooked one over in Mosquito Lagoon a few months ago that was every bit of ten feet and healthy, thick. He was on a bank about four feet above the water and when I came into view he got nervous and ran over the edge. It’s an impressive sight to see one that big completely airborne. Never saw him again but the commotion shut the fish down near there. I could do without em too.
