They had a function going on at the town park today , so I went to check a different location . The docks at Lake Kedron.
It was 51 and sunny when I got there , 15 minutes later the clouds moved in with the wind .
My primary reason for my trip was to check out some ester line and to try a double jig rig .
I didn’t care for either .
The ester line was like trying to fish with wire . Braid is more manageable IMO .
With the double jig rig, I used a size 10 4mm Tungsten handtie on the bottom and about 20” above it I tied a 3mm size 12 handtie tungsten jig .
The rig fished fine and that’s what I caught my only fish , on the top jig .
It when I was removing the jig from the fish I realized how dangerous two jigs can become with a fish on one .
I got stuck but not past the barb thank goodness.
Ended up fishing with a drop shot the rest of the hour I was there .
At least I now know the fish are starting to move in around the docks .
The rod was an Abu Garcia Mass Beat III paired with a Daiwa Fuego 1000LT .
