    Default No slab crappie

been watching fishing videos, mostly Crappie Videos, seems like all they want is record, slabs. giant crappie, Don't get it. never have never will, I used to toss the big ones back, My wife likes to cook the 10 to 11 in crappie, that was till we found out about baking and garlic butter basted crappie. just sitting and thinking,
going to try to make it to spring camp this year. may get to see some of the old gang, and meet some new crazy people.

I used to be one of those fisherman who was always in pursuit of 3 plus pound crappie. Now days, I agree with you Beagle. I prefer 10-12 inch crappie for table fare. We are hoping to make it to Truman the first weekend in May. Hope to see you there

we sometimes use butter, garlic, all purpose seasoning, in iron skillet, cook hot and fast, great flavor, they come out firm, and flaky at the same time. good eating.

I chased 2 pounders a couple years back, but I kept the 10-12" fish for eating. Now that I got into the 2lb Club, I'm good with catching eaters and not trophies. This doesn't mean I'm not throwing a jig at that PIE PLATE on my sonar. LoL
