Default 2-hour trip before the opening day of Baseball season

2/15 Opening Day of 2025 Spring Travel Baseball Season
We drew the late games for opening day so while everyone was still asleep I decided to sneak out to the pond behind our house. The fishing in the pond is on fire. Caught 15 crappie, 6 or 7 giant chinquipin, 4 or 5 big bluegill, and several nice sized bass. Most fish were caught slow rolling a 1/8 oz big bite baits jig head paired with a z-man shad fryz in the space guppy color. All catch and released. The fish were knocking the fire out of this bait. It is definitely a dream catching beautiful fish and taking pictures with your house in the background. Gonna brave the post frontal conditions tomorrow morning at Lake Beouf and will post the results. I'm trying to get as many trips in as possible before travel ball gets hot and heavy.
On a side note my son's baseball team went 4 and 0 for opening weekend! Tight lines everyone.

Good luck in Beouf - looking forward to your report. I might get out to Ruddock tomorrow afternoon if it clouds up.
