Default Temps drop , gills hibernate

Foggy , misty , cool temps , stained water , at least the wind wasn’t bad .
The upper sixties and low seventies have been replaced with highs barely making fifty .
The predicted high was supposed to be near sixty today , it was 51 when I headed home a three o’clock after a couple hours trying to catch whatever was willing to hit my micro jigs .

I took two combos , a 5’ Major Craft Aji Do light action rod with a Shimano Soare XR 500sspg and 2# Floroclear. And a 5’ St Croix Panfish series ULM with a Soare bb 500 spg , first with a Sahara spool with 3# Floroclear and later with the Soare bb spool with 2# Floroclear. Going to the 2# line gave me an additional 10-15’ distance.

I caught the most using the MC Aji Do rod , mainly because it was in my hand most of the time . I don’t see how they can build a blank that feels this stiff but still has a nice bend with a half pound bass on it . A fun little rod .
Ended up with eight bass total , with a couple of tiny ones, that I’ll post in the micro picture thread .
A messy , misty day with a light rain that almost sent me running for the car before it slacked off to a mist . But still fun to get out .
Conditions are expected to get worse and then colder the following week.

I prefer a stiff rod with fast tip. Sounds like a good one.

Sounds like a good time minus the sloppy conditions. You adverted the skunk by being determined... Nice looking fish for sure. Congratulations

Those fish look like they’re right in the fun size. Mostly I like that Major Craft rod. Glad to hear it has a friendly personality. I sure like mine. I just got line for my 2 Legalis and can’t wait to try them. The axle on the trailer would help too.
