Does anyone know for certain if goldfish are okay to use as bait in NC? Not just hearsay. I know the black salties are legal and they're a type of goldfish. My local baitshop closed so if I decide to use live bait I'll either have to catch my own which I have no experience at or buy red rosies and comet goldfish from Petsmart. I'm thinking about getting a bait aquarium, do you guys think 10 gallon is big enough or go with 20? I kept a couple of the rosy red when I learned to fish with jigs and he's grown to a nice size. I lost at least a 13 inch crappie one day at the pond on a 3 inch goldfish. Thought it was a bass at first
Good idea, I found a list of warden's by county if anyone needs to contact theirs. I will listen to the guy with a gun and cuffs but not some desk jockey

Just emailed Master Officer Tyler Wood of Wake county so I'll see what he says and reply back
