Got home about 3:30 and visited with my queen for a short and the good weather and low winds were just screaming at me. I had to go. In about 4:30 and out about 6. First fish put a big smile on my face. Not by his size but by his wardrobe, he had his Tux on!! First one this season and he was full of himself. Running hard along the surface and even jumped once. Pulled the jig after the pic and dropped him back in.
The fish pretty much cooperated and I got a few more as the sun began to drop. The Banshee and the Presso got the most play today with some four point sumthin pound Varivas braid. Casting was very good letting me reach some places without getting on top of them. Not long before I left I got another fully dressed male and he acted the same as the other, fired up! I also got a question answered today. Since I got the Banshee I’ve wondered what a good bluegill smack would feel like. Today I found out. Hit with proper authority and put a good bend in the rod. I’m pleased with it completely. Here’s the pics of todays stars minus a few tiny ones but just a couple of those. And of course, no trip around here is complete without the pretty boys showing up and fighting like he was lots bigger than he was. A good mid week recharge and the attendant at the ramp didn’t have to wait for me this time. Enjoy the pics and I hope y’all get out soone and stay warm…….Skeet

Looks like a great short trip. Love it when crappie jump. Black crappie seem to jump more, can't remember a white ever jump but at times they probably do.

Beautiful catches. Looks like the time is near in your neck of the woods.

Conrod, it’s a Japanese Daiwa Presso 1000s with a shallow spool. Weight is around 5 oz I believe. The rod is just over two oz. Sensitivity is better than most anything I’ve ever had. How you holding up?
