There’s a local fishing tourney for kiddos every year from a doctor’s memorial fund. This year they put 400 lbs of rainbows from an Oklahoma farm in the pond and kiddos caught about 100 lbs. Rumor has it 20 fish were 3-5 lb range. After the tourney it’s fair chase for anyone interested.
Went out a couple times and caught some good ones with the trusty Super Duper. Love that lure, it is a trout magnet. It has rarely failed me when paired with an ultralight and 4 lb test.
For years, I would chase TPWD stockers around my local parts but some years the stockers were so small I felt like what’s the point? Caught a few good ones over the years from TPWD, but generally all fish under 12 inches, most under 10 inches.
These Oklahoma stockers had some girth boy! Some nice eating fish with pink meat. Here’s some pics to enjoy!
God bless you all!

Nice. Good times!
Yeah, we have what are called FIN's Lakes, here in Ky. (Fishing in Neighborhoods Lakes) They're stocked with hatchery raised Rainbow Trout, Channel Catfish, and some with Hybrid Bluegill. But, as you say ... most Trout are in the 8-10" lengths. The "unfortunate" part of them being "hatchery raised" Trout is that they have a fairly bland taste, and not the rich flavor of the wild ones.
Nice rainbows. I’ve caught some in a stream fed pond in NC and a few in TN. They’re nothing but fun to me.
