Default me Went winter bluegill ketchn

Way out in the middle of the small lake was the bite , in a stupid high crosswind .
really chilly and missed and lost more than a few
25 or so mph wind and 40 outside ....
fish felt like they came out the freezer
at about 12 or so, something broke my line and I quit ...
Jungle jim ducktail jig about 6 foot under a comal pinch on pencil float
one crappie nibble and so it went
really nice size bluegill in them winter colors , looked at my jig more than a few times thinking something was for sure wrong with the hook , never lost and missed so many bluegills that I can remember
one thing for sure positive , no matter how hard they bit or pecked and how long the float went under ....
all were just barely hooked in the lip .....go figure ....pecky biting fools for sure
they all went free AND ....
    KABOOM is still me btw

Those neck gators come in handy for situations like that. I also like to pull the back part up enough to cover my ears. Good job.

Hoodie under a nice jacket works good unless the wind is in your face.

I’m with ya on the wind. I’ve had Pneumonia 4 or 5 times and I’m sure at least three came from driving the boat in low temps with no protection on the face. Sinus infection led to junk in the lungs. You’d think I’d get smart at some point but the fish was bitin!! Thems some dandy winter gills ya got there.

Tough conditions for sure but you made it work. I find myself checking my jig when I miss a few bites in a row. Hardly ever the jig but just have to look.
