Thread: New rod on the way

I’d been trying to decide what rod or reel to put my gift card towards for a couple of weeks .
I finally decided on a 6’ TFO Pastime Trout and panfish ULF .
I like my 6’ TFO T&P 1 and like my 6’ TFO T&P II even more .
The Pastime is supposed to be similar but a step above those and even more sensitive.
And it’s made here in the USA!
Just received shipping confirmation this morning.
Maybe I can catch a warm day soon and give it a proper sliming.
If it survives FedEx shipping.

My newest addition to the stable arrived a few minutes ago .
It survived FedEx , thanks mostly to the packing of TFO .
I ordered through Amazon , but my order was fulfilled by TFO .
They used a square box , but the rod was cradled inside by three cardboard supports , with the first 12” inches inside folded cardboard.
I would have preferred a tube for a rod that cost this much , but it survived.

I put a Shimano Soare XR500sspg on it for now . Doesn’t balanced perfectly , but when the reel only weighs 4.7oz ……………….

The Soare bb500spg would probably balance perfectly, but when the entire combo weighs less than 8oz . Balance doesn’t matter so much .
