    If the 5’6” Daiwa Iprimi was 8-12” shorter , I think it would be about right .

    Gillchaser, not trying to persuade you away from Daiwa brand of rod, but since you own a Shimano Soare reel have you looked at their Soare line of Ajing rods? Their Ci4+ Soare from 2020 were over priced in my opinion @$300ish. But their latest entry of admission in the form of Soare SS Ajing can be had for $180 or less...same blank less bling i believe. I aquired the 48sul-s which weren't available before, but never post much about it but recently have caught a few trout with it using as area-type style of fishing and it more than meet my expectations. The sweet spot lure weight is 1.2g which the only lure i have. @46 grams, it's shorter than your 5' Daiwa X at 4'8".
