    Default First Trip of 2025

Rolled up on my first spot and caught three nice ones right off the bat. Hit the ignition to go somewhere else and nothing. Battery so dead it wouldn't even jump. It was a long troll back to PB2, but the ride home is only 45 minutes and I had a few cold ones in the fridge. The wife even took down all the Christmas lights by the time I got home.Name: 20250102_081806.jpg

Same with me the other day. Ready to move and batt was dead as a door knob. Lot of work for this 68 year old to switch out batteries under the deck but WAY too far to troll back. Battery replaced, everything ready for another trip.

Glad to hear you made it back. Looks way to cold for me. But a nice fish anyway.

Some discussion has been going on about a carrying a portable battery jumper in the boat. I myself don't have one, but hardly fish anymore, much less when it's cold. But I do have a quality jumper cable in the boat. Only had to swap batteries once to get me to buy one to leave in the boat.
