Good job. Yeah I’m not looking forward to the cold front coming.

If itd been cloudy today , I would have stayed home . My wife suggested I go ahead and if it got too bad I could always come home .
I managed to catch three small gills and a small bass in about 1 1/2 hours.
It was fishing with frustration. Wind was 15 gusting to 30+ . Temps , upper 40s into low 50s before I left .
Several times , I tried to time the gusts only to have my jig hit a wall and my line would blow back around me .
I tried the dam area first , on the filtered shaded bank and caught the little bass .
After about thirty minutes of being pounded by the wind , I walked to the sunny side , hoping to have the wind to my back . Most of the time it was blowing in from an angle . I thought a float might help and was able to get longer casts and caught a small bluegill. At least it was warmer in the sun .
The last fifteen minutes or so I walked back over to the dam side and fish a corner shallow flat and caught two more gills .
Wished Id had more time to fish that flat .
Combo today was a 5 St Croix Avid ULF ,paired with a Shimano Soare XR500sspg and 2# Floroclear. Probably my lightest combo and my most expensive one . A fun combo to fish jigs with .
Forecast tomorrow is calling for less wind but cooler temps and sun .
May have to give that flat another try . The weather is predicted to get worse the next 10 days .
The bigger the Bend , the Wider the Grin !
My wife told me possibly Monday for us but if anything it will be rain or slush.
Dave we have the Wintery Mix slated for here starting tonight through the weekend. We are toward the bottom of the system sliding across the middle of the states. We're supposed to end up with 2" accumulated snow, but have bitter cold single digit temps. Looks like cabin fever time a coming...

Looks like we're getting ice and freezing rain followed by snow. I hope they are wrong.
Not real sure that would help the way the weathers been changing. I lived a mile north of I-10 a while back, and two winters in a row it snowed. Not much mind you but it did snow. I was only 20 miles or so north of the gulf. Winter cold only lasted a couple weeks in a row, before temps started creeping back up again.
A couple years befor that it snowed on both sides of the southern border down in Laredo, Tx of all places. Can't get further south and be in the US...But I do agree, the cold don't last as long it seems south of I-10
